The beginning

In 2019, Cooks25 was born—an innovative internal program aimed at developing refugees into skilled hospitality professionals. In collaboration with Gemeente Amsterdam, we provided participants with essential skills, including basic Dutch, hygiene protocols, and professional cooking techniques.

Our spacious kitchen evolved into more than just a workplace – it became a vibrant learning environment where status holders could develop their skills and build a solid foundation for their future careers.

A New Level

It’s time for our organization to take the next step, as we see even greater potential for Kanteen25 beyond just being a learning environment for refugees. That’s why Cooks25 has been given a fresh new identity: Talent25.

With Talent25, status holders, students, and current employees are given the opportunity to learn and grow. For example, if you start as a dishwasher but have the ambition to work in the kitchen, our internal program—under the guidance of our experienced chef as a certified mentor—makes it possible to take the next step and develop your talents. Or, if you're a student looking to intern at Kanteen25, that's also an option.

We offer a friendly learning and working environment where ideas and skills can flourish.

There are various opportunities: internships, full-time vocational programs (BOL), combined work and study programs (BBL), and collaborations with schools such as ROC van Amsterdam and Hotelschool The Hague. In addition, we offer internal training and development programs for all our team members. For example, you can contribute to menu creation if you’re interested in working in the kitchen, take the HACCP course, and participate in internal training sessions on cocktail making, coffee preparation, wine and food pairings, and more.
